The Saltillo Board of Aldermen officially snuffed out smoking in public buildings on Tuesday night as they unanimously approved the proposed ban. While details have not been posted on the city’s website, WTVA.com reports that Alderman Brad Woodcock said there will likely be some exceptions to the ban when it goes into effect in 30 days, and that the ban does not apply to electronic cigarettes. Restaurants have been the most discussed part of the ban, as it had previously been legal to light up with a meal. Saltillo is home to just under 5,000 people and is located in the northwest part of the state, approximately 10 miles north of Tupelo.
