A proposal to ban smoking and the use of nicotine delivery products is likely headed to the Stamford Board of Representatives after the city’s parks and recreation commission passed the policy last month. An initial proposal considered by the parks board would have banned smoking at all of the city’s 56 parks as well as at city beaches, but the latter portion was dropped in the debate process, according to the Stamford Advocate. Stamford is home to an estimated 126,456 residents and is located approximately 40 miles northeast of New York City.
