Hechicera Maduro Slated for August

As with many, Grace Sotolongo’s sophomore release will be a maduro. At this year’s IPCPR convention and trade show, Sotolongo Cigars will show off the Hechicera Maduro, which uses a Mexican San Andrés and a blend of Nicaraguan fillers. “The Hechicera Maduro is meant to haul in Maduro enthusiasts, while still appearing to the masses,” said Sotolongo in a press release.  It’s offered in the same four sizes as the original Hechicera: Corona Prensada (5 1/2 x 44), Robusto (4 1/2 x 50), Toro (6 x 52) and Gigante (6 x 60). Pricing is set between $6.45 and $9.45—slightly more expensive than the original—and the cigars will come in boxes of 10. Once again, Cuban artists Ninoska Perez-Castellon has designed the artwork for the boxes. The Hechicera Maduro is being made at an undisclosed Nicaraguan factory and is expected to ship in August. At last year’s trade show, Sotolongo announced that she would be creating her own cigar, which would be distributed by Christian Eiroa’s CLE Cigar Company. The original Hechicera debuted in October. CLE Cigar Company distributes the Asylum, CLE, EH Cigars, Eiroa, Hechicera, Pura Soul and Wynwood cigar brands.
