Viaje Ships Cache, Collaboration 2014 & Satori 2014

Viaje prides itself on not being like most companies—and you add shipping IPCPR releases before the trade show to the list of the company’s traits. Earlier today retailers were invoiced for three different lines—Cache, Collaboration 2014 and the annual release of Satori. The concept behind Collaboration is fairly simple, each year the California-based company will work with another cigar brand to produce a limited release. For the inaugural edition of the series, the company has chosen a logical partner—Casa Fernández, who is associated with AGANORSA, a long-time supplier for Viaje. The Viaje Collaboration 2014 is a 6 x 52 box-pressed toro with an unfinished foot. It is made at Casa Fernández’s TABSA factory and uses a Nicaraguan corojo 99 wrapper over Nicaraguan fillers. Pricing is set at at $11.50 per cigar or $230 per box of 20. Cache is also made at TABSA—joining Collaboration as the first cigars made at the Estelí, Nicaragua-based factory. “Its name comes from the rooms, or ‘caches,’ in Estelí, Nicaragua, where (Aganorsa’s) best leaf is allowed to age in bales,” said the company. “These are the rooms Andre and members of the blending team come to test the leaf before rolling begins.” Following that theme, ...
