After a two-month delay, the Ninfamaniac and Ninfamaniac Darks are leaving Miami to ship to retailers. This marks the debut release for Crux, a Minnesota-based company owned by Jeff Haugen and Joel Rodgers, co-owners of Tobacco Grove. Announced in February, the 7 x 33 Ninfamaniac is sold in boxes of 30 for $179.90. Crux’s take on the ninfa shape is actually a double perfecto, meaning both the cap and foot are closed to a point. The Plasencia-made cigars are sold in either Jalapa habano or the darker Jalapa sun grown with an Indonesian binder and Nicaraguan fillers. The Skeeterz was also slated to ship on April 1, Haugen told halfwheel it would begin shipping in approximately three weeks.
