There’s a new version of RoMa Craft Tobac’s Intemperance line heading to Famous Smoke Shop. Named Whiskey Rebellion 1794, it pays tribute to a protest in the 1790s at a new tax on spirits introduced by George Washington. Eventually, 170 protesters were arrested and more than a dozen people were killed in western Pennsylvania as the U.S. military tried to put down the uprising. The new line uses an Ecuadorian habano ligero wrapper, Indonesian Beskui binder and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It will be offered initially in a single 5 x 50 size, though Skip Martin of RoMa Craft Tobac has indicated there will be more. As Cigar Dojo has done in the past, a single retailer has been chosen to sell this release. This time it’s Famous Smoke Shop. The cigars will go on sale July 7 to members of Cigar Dojo with the general public getting their first chance to buy the cigars on July 9.
