On June 20, over 40 lots of Cuban Davidoffs will go under the hammer as C.Gars Ltd hosts its semiannual live auction at The Bulgari Hotel in London. This is the 18th auction hosted by the London-based retailer and the second of 2016, though the first one was online only. There’s a wide range of Davidoffs from the small 4 1/2 x 26 Ambassadrice size to six different boxes of Davidoff Dom Perignons, including a 25-count box expected to sell for between £3,500-4000 ($5,000-5,800). The auction features three different lots from Partagás’ 170th anniversary celebration, including a chest humidor containing 300 special cigars. That is expected to sell for £15,000-18,000 ($21,500-26,000). Another interesting humidor, a partial humidor of Cubatabaco 25th Anivesarios is estimated to sell for £3,600-4,200 ($5,200-6,000). But perhaps the most interesting lot is No. 255, five Cohiba Coronas that claim to be from the 1940s. The brand’s roots are said to begin in 1966, meaning it is celebrating 50 years this year. In total, there are nearly 300 lots for the June auction. Bidding is available in person as well as online.
