A new ban on smoking will soon be coming to select parks across Montgomery County, Pa., as county commissioners approved the proposal to prevent lighting up during their meeting Thursday. The ban will apply to both traditional smoked tobacco products as well as new e-cigarettes, with the goal of reducing litter and improving the health of county residents the main goals of the ban, according to the Reading Eagle. It will only apply to parks outside of incorporated cities and towns, with a start date not yet announced. Montgomery County is located in southeastern Pennsylvania, a suburban county of northwest Philadelphia. It has a population of nearly 800,000 residents, making it the third most populous county in the state.
