Tewksbury has become the latest town in Massachusetts to increase the minimum age to purchase tobacco products, upping the age to 21 as part of a number of anti-tobacco measures enacted by the board of health at its most recent meeting. In addition to the age increase, the board passed new regulations that restrict the sale of flavored tobacco products and blunt wraps, according to a report from the Tewksbury Town Crier. The changes will go into effect on July 1. Tewksbury is located in northeastern Massachusetts, just under 20 miles northwest of Boston. It had a 2010 population estimate of 28,961 residents.
