Tomorrow, the cigar made in honor of Pete Johnson’s beloved dog will be released. The cigar is the Tatuaje K 222, named after Kona, the Tatuaje founder’s late rottweiler, who passed away a year ago today, April 22 at 2:22 p.m. Reserva K222 is more than just a cigar for me. @konarules @tatuajecigars @thesnsclub #tatuajecigars #thesnsclub #cigars #family #madeintheusa A photo posted by Pete Johnson (@tatuajeinc) on Apr 13, 2016 at 5:28pm PDT It’s being released at an event at Fujioka’s Wine Times tomorrow with Johnson in attendance. The 5 7/8 x 52 cigar and is a cross between Tatuaje’s Cojonu 2003 and Reserva J21, meaning an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers. The cigar is being made at My Father’s El Rey de los Habanos factory in Doral, Fla. It’s the first new regular production Tatuaje made stateside since 2009. Pricing is set at $14 per cigar. Production of the cigar is ongoing, but limited to roughly 100 boxes per month. Also debuting at the event is the new event-only Tatuaje Halloween Series.
