L’Atelier Imports longstanding annual limited edition, Racine, will be back for another release this year, this time in a shorter format than ever before. The fourth release in the L’Atelier Extension de la Racine series is a 4 7/8 x 50 robusto. The 2016 version is covered in a Nicaraguan sun grown criollo wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers, including the Sancti Spiritus tobacco that has become the signature of L’Atelier in both binder and filler. Racine is offered to retailers who attend the IPCPR Convention & Trade Show and place orders with the company. It traditionally ships a couple months later. L’Atelier co-founder Pete Johnson told halfwheel the company has not finalized pricing, but that the cigar will be sold in boxes of 20 and production should be similar to year’s past, where it has topped out at 1,500 boxes.
