Pete Johnson of Tatuaje has told halfwheel that his company will no longer produce single store exclusive releases. “Due to factory constraints and production limits we are no longer able to produce smaller projects,” said Johnson in a text to halfwheel. When asked if this would apply to even some of the larger single store releases the company has previously produced, Johnson indicated that Tatuaje would no longer make limited edition releases that will be sold only at a single store. While releases like the Federal 109 and Pork Tenderloin are amongst the most high-regarded cigars Tatuaje has put out in its 13-year history, the challenges of making unique cigars in small runs for specific stores has had its problems at various times. Now, it seems Johnson will no longer have to worry about that. Tatuaje will not cease production of limited edition cigars, even those that might only be offered at certain retailers.
