Habanos S.A. is reported to have named a new chief financial officer, as Diadema SpA, the Italian distributor of Habanos products recently issued a congratulatory press release announcing that Borja Casanova Bustillo has been appointed to the position to succeed Antonio Pascual Garcia. After five years with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a senior accountant, Casanova joined Habanos S.A. in 2002 as a financial analyst before being elevated to budgeting and controlling manger in January 2007. In May 2007, he joined Diadema SpA as vice president of finance, and in 2014 he moved to Canada to become chief financial officer of Havana House Cigars, the Canadian distributor of Habanos. Pascual has been chief financial officer of Habanos S.A. since July 2006, though he joined the company in July 2002 as planning & development deputy manager. In September 2003, he was promoted to planning & development manager of Habanos. A spokesperson for Habanos S.A. declined to provide an official statement on the change.
