The 30th anniversary cigar for R. Field Wine Co. of Hawaii will be released on Friday. The La Colmena Amado No. 407 is a 7 x 40 version of Warped’s La Colmena blend. It was introduced last year as part of Warped’s relaunch and is one of a few different blends the company has made at El Titan de Bronze. The cigar uses an Ecuadorian DesFlorada wrapper, Ecuadorian binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. Production will be limited to 200 boxes of 10. Suggested pricing for any out of state customers is $15.75 per cigar, while in-state purchases are likely to be around $23.50 thanks to Hawaii’s 50 percent tax on cigars. Kyle Gellis of Warped told halfwheel that the La Colmena blend is no longer an option for retailers to use as an exclusive offering. That being said, he acknowledged that he has previously spoken to Marvin Change of R. Field Wine Co. about using another La Colmena for an event in the future. This will be the sixth vitola of La Colmena and the second retailer exclusive. Gellis also said this will be the first time Warped’s event-only Celestial will be offered with its packaging. R.
