It’s a little more costly to be a tobacco retailer in the city of Scotts Valley, Calif., as the city council approved a new $150 licensing fee on all retailers selling tobacco products during its meeting on Wednesday. The money will go to funding two annual retail checks where undercover minors and the Scotts Valley police department will attempt to purchase tobacco products from retailers in the city, which is located 30 miles south of San Jose. The results of the vote were reported by the Press Banner.
