A parks smoking ban in Devils Lake, N.D. is scheduled to go into effect on Sept. 1 after the city’s park board unanimously approved the proposal on Wednesday. The ban primarily centers around areas where children play, including a prohibition on lighting up within 20 feet of playground areas and youth sports and activities. The ban does not apply to adult sports such as softball, according to the Devils Lake Journal. Devils Lake is home to approximately 7,300 residents.
