It’s another sizable booth from Global Marketing & Distribution (GMD), the European company that came to last year’s show with over nine lines. In short, the company is relatively new and based out of Europe, but two months ago Leenid Gilman has launched the brand in the U.S. and is continuing to grow his portfolio. With the addition of Imperior, the company now has six brands and 14 lines. Like a variety of the company’s other lines, Imperior is made at Tabacalera El Artista in Tamboril. There are two versions: first, the B31—a Dominican maduro wrapper over a Dominican binder and Dominican and Pennsylvania fillers. The other is C11, an Ecuadorian Connecticut version which uses entirely Dominican opponents. Both lines are offered in Belicoso (5 1/2 x 52, $7), Churchill (7 x 50, $9.90), Gran Toro (6 x 54, $9), Robusto (5 x 50, $7) and Toro (6 x 50, $8). Interestingly, the bands not only dilettante which blend is which, but also list the full components on the back. Gilman told halfwheel he expects to ship the two lines on Aug. 25.
