Patoro Bringing Gran Añejo Reserva to U.S.

After a successful splash in the U.S. market, Patoro is launching a second line for the American market this summer. Like the Patoro Serie P, the line the company debuted with in the U.S. last year, the new line isn’t entirely new. Rather, it’s a modified take on an existing Patoro line in Europe, this time, the Patoro Gran Añejo Reserva Serie. The U.S. version of the Patoro Gran Añejo Reserva will use the same Dominican fillers as the European version, but the cover leaf will be an Ecuadorian havano version instead of the Ecuadorian Connecticut found on the original line. Gran Añejo Reserva Serie — USA Edition will be a bit pricier than the Serie P with the cigars ranging from $15-19. The four vitolas offered will be Gordito (4 x 58), Robusto (5 x 50), Toro (6 x 50) and Churchill (7 1/2 x 50). Each size is offered in boxes of 20. Dr. Pablo Richard told halfwheel that the packaging will also change. While the European version uses a natural cedar box, the U.S. version is painted in gold.
