Bigger does appear to be better, at least in the case of the Asylum 13 Corojo, as the company has announced that it is dropping the 6 x 70 in favor of a 7 x 70, while keeping the price and packaging the same. The Asylum 13 Corojo debuted in April 2013, a Honduran puro that was released in a 5 x 50 robusto and a 6 x 60 gordo, both originally made at Tabacos Rancho Jamastran in Honduras. When the cigar was released, Eiroa told halfwheel that both a 70 and 80-ring gauge version of the Asylum 13 Corojo were in the works. In the two years since its debut, both sizes have been added in the form of a 6 x 70, 6 x 80 and 8 x 80, in addition to the Super 11/18 figurado that came out in late March, with production shifted to Eiroa’s El Aladino factory. Today the company confirmed that the 6 x 70 would be going away in the near future, replaced by a 7 x 70 version with the same MSRP of $219 for a box of 30 cigars, or $7.30 per stick.
