In celebration of its 20th anniversary in the tobacco distribution business, Zander-Greg is celebrating with a special edition of the New World cigar from A.J. Fernandez, a cigar the company is calling the epitome of its portfolio. The blend has been tweaked just a bit to give the company its own distinct flavor, with customers able to identify the special release by a new secondary band. Zander-Greg’s 20th Anniversary is being released in four box-pressed vitolas, a 5 x 55 robusto, 5 1/2 x 55 belicoso, 6 1/2 x 55 toro and a 6 x 60 gordo, with MSRPs between $5-6 per cigar and all packed 21 to a box. The cigars are still Nicaraguan puros, with the binder coming from Jalapa and the filler coming from Ometepe, Condega and Estelí. The cigars are described as full-bodied with a flavor profile that includes coffee, pepper, wood and chocolate. The cigars are made at the Tabacalera Fernandez factory in Estelí, Nicaragua are expected to be at retail in September.
