Next month, A.J. Fernandez Cigars’ New World line will officially have a new member of the family, as the New World Connecticut is set to hit store shelves in May. The line has been on the radar since mid-November of last year, and while it made an appearance at a Dec. 1 event at Cigar Inn in New York City, it was uncertain when it would get a full release and in what sizes. Today the company announced that the New World Connecticut will be released in four sizes: a 5 1/2 x 46 corona gorda, 5 x 50 robusto, 6 x 52 toro and 6 x 54 belicoso. None of these were the size that was shown off in December, a 5 1/2 x 54 robusto, and none will be box-pressed like the original line. They will all come in 20-count boxes with pricing similar to that of the current New World line, around $6 per cigar. This new addition uses a Connecticut shade-grown wrapper, Mexican San Andrés binder and fillers from Nicaragua and Brazil. The company calls is a medium bodied with notes of cream, wood, and almonds.
