With Oktoberfest already covered, Quesada Cigars is turning to arguably the next most noted beer-drinking holiday for its next release, the Quesada Keg Edition. “Being half Irish I have always wanted to work on a project for St. Patricks day,” said Terence Reilly, general manager of Quesada Cigars, in a press release. “Success with our Oktoberfest brand pairing cigars with beer got me excited to do something for St. Patricks.” The release, which is made by Plasencia in Nicaragua, is a single 6 x 50 toro made to be paired with an Irish stout, similar to how the Oktoberfest is made to the Märzen style German beer drank during Oktoberfest. It uses a Pennsylvania broadleaf wrapper and a Nicaraguan binder and fillers. The Quesada Keg Edition, which is due out next March, is limited to 250 kegs of 21 priced at $7.95 per cigar. While the company has a long history of working with the Plasencia family, it notes this is the first time the Quesada name has appeared on a cigar not made by the family in the Dominican Republic.
