The latest version of the Tatuaje TAA is shipping today. Members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) who ordered the exclusive cigar in March will no longer have to wait according to Tatuaje’s Pete Johnson. Since 2011, Johnson has created a limited edition cigar for the organization’s members who place orders at the annual meeting, which usually takes place in March, oftentimes in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This year’s edition measures 6 x 52 and features a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper. Johnson described the release as falling in between the 2011 (5 5/8 x 54) and 2012 (6 1/4 x 50) versions of the cigar. Pricing will be $11, although Johnson told halfwheel that production is now 2,800 boxes of 20, 300 more than he originally announced in March. Johnson was one of six manufacturers to produce special cigars this year for TAA joining Altadis U.S.A., Crowned Heads, La Flor Dominicana, My Father Cigars and Padrón.
