La Barba Announces Purple as Second Line

La Barba Cigars, the company run by Tony Bellatto and Craig Rossi, has announced its latest creation that is due for a September release, a line the duo are calling La Barba Purple. The cigar uses an HVA Ecuadorian habano wrapper, Dominican corojo binder and a filler of corojo, HVA habano and a rare varietal called Carbonell. It’s being made at Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic, and the blend was assisted by Robert Caldwell of Caldwell Cigar Co. and Henderson Ventura, the son of William Ventura. The company is planning on five sizes for the La Barba Purple at its launch, with pricing to range from $8 – $12 per cigar and all sizes available in ten-count boxes. There will be a 5 x 50 robusto, 5 3/4 x 46 corona gorda, 6 x 54 toro, 7 x 38 lancero and 6 x 60 magnum.
