Tom Lazuka knows that oftentimes a person’s first cigar is one with a sweet cap. As such, the man behind the Asylum brand, largely known for its gigantic ring gauges, is releasing his latest cigar—Insidious by Asylum. Lazuka told halfwheel he realized it was a gap in the larger CLE/Fabricas Unidas portfolio, as well as the larger cigar business itself. The five-cigar line uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over Honduran fillers and is made at Christian Eiroa’s El Aladino factory in Honduras. It will be offered in 6 x 44 ($4), 5 x 50 ($4.20), 6 x 52 ($4.40), 7 x 48 ($4.60) and 7 x 64 ($4.80) All sizes come in boxes of 25.  The company expects to begin shipping Insidious in August following its debut at the upcoming IPCPR convention and trade show. Lazuka told halfwheel the cigars are on the way to the states, meaning they were not affected by the recent break-in at one of the company’s warehouses. Asylum is distributed CLE Cigars/Fabricas Unidas.
