Just over a year since the Martín Family of Cigars ceased operations and was acquired by Gurkha Cigar Group, the brand is set to relaunch at this year’s IPCPR Convention and Trade Show with a new band and box but true to the flavor that the brand has established. Gurkha has announced that the Pedro Martín Ruby will be returning to regular production, scheduled to be released in three sizes: a 5 x 50 robusto ($7.50 per cigar, $150 per box of 20); a 6 x 52 toro ($8.50 per cigar, $170 per box) and a 6 x 60 XO ($9.50 per cigar, $190 per box). The cigars are made under the direction of Arsenio Ramos at TABSA in Estelí, Nicaragua using a red colorado corojo wrapper from an undisclosed country, along with Nicaraguan binder and filler to create a medium to full-bodied profile. It is anticipated that the Pedro Martín Ruby will begin shipping to retailers in mid-August.
