For the first time in roughly eight years, Ashton Distributors, Inc. will be introducing an entirely new line from Arturo Fuente. It’s called Symmetry, it will use the Ashton name and it’s been in the works for years. Ashton Symmetry is expected to debut at the trade show and Scottsdale, Arizona-based retailer Cigar King has a “launch event” listed on Aug. 29, 2014. Trademark filings for Symmetry date as far back as early 2011. A report from Cigar Brief later that year likely referenced Symmetry as a project, although the cigar has taken more than two additional years to come to life. Ashton has introduced a variety of new lines over the last few years, but all have been from the García family’s My Father Cigars S.A. under the company’s La Aroma de Cuba and San Cristobal names. The cigar’s delay is likely not entirely related to Ashton. In August of 2011 a large fire in one of Fuente’s main warehouses destroyed a large amount of tobacco and forced the delay of a variety of projects including Fuente’s 100th anniversary cigars.
