Felipe Gregorio Power 2014 Slated for IPCPR Release

Felipe Gregorio has announced that the second installment in its Power line will be ready for the 2014 IPCPR Convention and Trade Show that is coming up in July. The 2014 edition of Power is made from Pelo de Oro tobacco from seeds of Cuban ancestry that has been grown in the Cordillera Central of Costa Rica. The company says that by being grown at 3,000 feet, it has been able to avoid the use of pesticides on the sun grown tobacco. The wrapper leaf is a rosado that dates back to 2007, with what is described as a “rooster tail habano” used for the binder and “ancestral Cuban Havana seed” as the filler. The cigar was blended by Philip G. Wynne, owner of Felipe Gregorio, and is being made at the Tres Tierras factory in Costa Rica. All of the tobacco goes through triple fermentation, with the cigars undergoing three rounds of inspection and getting a triple cap, part of what the company calls its “333 rule.” There will be 1,000 25-count boxes of each of the five sizes produced: a 5 x 52 Special Robusto (SRP $12.00); 4 1/2 x 58 Torbusto ($13.00); 5 1/2 x 55 Triple R ($14.00); 6 ...
