Over a year after being brought on board as one of Camacho’s brand ambassadors, Rob Weiss will get his own cigar company. A year ago, we broke the news that Weiss was working with Camacho to develop his own line, at the time tentatively called Standard Issue. The line is now official and will be the debut release of BG Meyer Co., a new company owned by Weiss. Weiss is a producer best known for his work on HBO’s Entourage, where he also served as a writer. He served a similar role on How to Make It in America and is currently an executive producer for a new series entitled Ballers, set to debut on HBO later this year. His partnership with Davidoff’s Camacho brand started last year when he became a member of Camacho’s Board of Bold which includes legendary football coach Mike Ditka and jewelry designer Matt Booth. All three have their own brands, all made at AgroIndustrias Laepe S.A., the factory home to Camacho. Standard issues is a Nicaraguan puro with a habano wrapper, binder from Estelí and fillers from Estelí, Jalapa and Ometepe.
