The flagship line of the CLE Cigar portfolio is getting a maduro counterpart this summer. Christian Eiroa told halfwheel that his eponymous Eiroa line will be adding an Eiroa CBT Maduro in early July. It’s a blend that has been in the works for “many years” according to Eiroa, different from the original Eiroa line and one that is likely to remain a secret. It will feature leaves from higher primings of the plant. “We are going after the true sense of the ‘maduro’ word,” Eiroa explained to halfwheel. “The cigar is full-flavored, full-bodied, but easy for anyone to enjoy.” While he would not disclose the origin of the wrapper, he explained that he was interested in using a wrapper that is naturally darker because of the amount of sun and nutrients it receives, as opposed to wrappers that are dark simply because of their origin or how they are processed. It also shares the same four sizes and pricing: 4 x 48 Prensado, 5 x 50, 6 x 52 and a 6 x 60. The Prensado size is the only box-pressed size.
