The Navy’s attempts to restrict the sale of tobacco on its bases has been delayed as the Department of Defense investigates the possibility of widespread restrictions on tobacco use and sales. According to a report from Military Times, there is now support for investigating whether service members could be prohibited from using tobacco on bases. However, after the Navy announced it was considering banning tobacco the House Armed Service Committee added language preventing the ban into its Y2015 defense authorization bill.
