This Saturday is the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby. It’s an event marked by hats, mint juleps and on some occasion—cigars. Louisville-based Ted’s Cigars is the official cigar maker of the Kentucky Derby and is releasing a special cigar for the 140th anniversary. The KY Derby 140 is a 6 x 50 cigar made by Victor Sinclair in the Dominican Republic. It features an Ecuadorian Connecticut shade wrapper, Ecuadorian sumatra binder and Dominican piloto cubano and criollo 98’ fillers. It is priced at $10 per cigar and is sold in boxes of 25, with each cigar in a self-humidified tube. According to Ted’s, production is limited to 10,000 cigars and will be sold to retailers, although most sales are at Churchill Downs. (Images via Ted’s Cigars)
