Tatuaje released its latest TAA exclusive cigar at the group’s annual meeting last week in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with the plan to have them at retail in late August or early September. The Tatuaje TAA 2014 will be a 6 x 52 vitola that uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper. Only 2,500 boxes of 20 are being produced, and Pete Johnson said that all of them have been accounted for. It will come with a price tag of $11.00 per cigar and come dressed with the band featuring the TAA logo that has been used on two of the past three releases. This is the fourth consecutive year that Johnson has created a cigar just for the Tobacconists’ Association of America, as the 2011 and 2012 releases were a unique blend that Johnson described as being similar to Tatuaje’s Barclay Rex and Pork Tenderloin releases, “but with a cool twist,” he said. He changed sizes between the releases, going from a 5 5/8 x 54 in 2011 to a 6 1/4 x 50 in 2012.
