Earlier this year a new Alec Bradley called Project 50 appeared—a line which initially didn’t appear to be related to cigars with 50 ring gauge—now there’s evidence of Project 60, which does appear to be related to 60 ring gauge. STOGIES World Class Cigar has taken deliver of Alec Bradley Project 60, a three-size line offered in 5 x 60, 6 x 60 and 7 x 60 sizes with pricing between $8.15-9.25 per cigar. Interestingly, the dimensions inside the box of Project 60 don’t seem to be related to the size of the cigars, suggesting that Project 50 seems likely to in fact be related to the size of the cigars. Project 50 and Project 60 are both lines that were sent to select retailers prior to Aug. 8, 2016—the date the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) began regulating premium cigars. Any new cigar introduced to the market after Aug. 8 would be subject to FDA pre-approval meaning a manufacturer could not sell the cigar until FDA approved the product, a process that is expected to be lengthy and expensive.
