Casa Magna Jalapa Claro Announced as IPCPR Trade Show Exclusive

In an effort to get more retailers to attend the annual IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, manufacturers have been offering cigars that can only be purchased at the show. Quesada Cigars is lending their hand to that cause this year, announcing today that the Casa Magna Jalapa Claro will be a show-only exclusive release. The cigar retains the same binder and filler as the original Casa Magna, but uses a caramel-colored claro leaf grown in Nicaragua’s Jalapa valley. The new line will come in three sizes, Toro (6 x 58), Box Pressed Toro (6 x 50) and Robusto (5 1/2 x 54), with prices between $6.65 and $7.65. Plasencia Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua is producing the cigars according to a report from Cigar Aficionado. The news of the Casa Magna Jalapa Claro comes days after the company announced the 2016 lineup for its Oktoberfest series, which is getting a pair of new sizes, handcrafted humidors for retail promotions and other changes. The company has not announced production numbers for the new cigar or when it will begin shipping, though it should be on store shelves before Aug. 8 in order to be released ahead of FDA’s new regulations.
