Las Cumbres Tabaco will be introducing a new size in both the Señorial Maduro and Freyja lines at next month’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, according to a report in Cigar Aficionado. The Señorial Maduro will get El Cuadro, a 5 3/4 x 46 ring gauge box pressed corona, a fitting shape given that the name translates from Spanish as the frame. It retains the blend’s Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper, Dominican piloto Cubano binder and fillers of Dominican piloto and Criollo 98, arriving with an MSRP of $7.50 per cigar and in 21-count boxes. Freyja will add another cigar in reference to the god Thor, this time called Mjölnir and named for his iconic hammer. It’s a 6 1/2 x 55 trunk pressed toro priced at $9, and will also come in 21-count boxes. The blend for this new size remains the same, with a Dominican criollo 98 wrapper, Mexican binder and Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. It too will come in 21-count boxes. Both new cigars are being produced at Tabacalera Palma in the Dominican Republic, which is owned by Jochy Blanco, the cousin of Josê Blanco, owner of Las Cumbres.
