Effective next Friday, prices on almost every single Padrón cigar will increase 30 cents per cigar. The increase will affect the company’s 1926 Aniversario Serie, 1964 Anniversary Series and Padrón Thousand Series. The only items not increasing by 30 cents are the Dámaso line—which was introduced last year—and the Padrón 1964 Anniversary Hermoso, a 4 x 56 vitola the company released two months ago. In addition, the Cortico, a 4 1/4 x 35 member of the Thousand Series, will increase only 20 cents per cigar. In a letter sent to retailers the family indicated that “social, economic and regulatory forces” were behind the increase. Last year, the company raised prices on most of its cigar by 20 cents per cigar. It joins a host of other manufacturers which have raised prices this year.
