Add Overland Park to the growing list of cities in the Kansas City area that have raised the minimum age to purchase tobacco to 21. Last night, the Overland Park city council voted in favor of raising the minimum age to purchase tobacco from 18 to 21. In addition to the Kansas City proper, as well as Bonner Springs, Gardner, Gladstone, Independence, Olathe and Prairie Village. The charge is being led by Tobacco 21|KC, an initiative supported by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and local health groups. Overland Park is located in Johnson County, it has a population of 180,000.
