Cohiba Nicaragua Adding Pequeños This Month

The Cohiba Nicaragua line from General Cigar Co. will be getting its fifth vitola in the coming weeks, as the company is set to begin shipping the 4 3/16 x 36 Pequeños vitola to retailers in mid-May. While it’s the smallest vitola in the line, the company promises that it won’t be short on flavor, as it uses the same premium tobaccos found in the other sizes of Cohiba Nicaragua, a blend that includes a Honduran Jamastran Colorado oscuro wrapper over a Nicaraguan core, as the binder comes from Jalapa while the filler adds tobacco from Estelí. The result is a full flavored cigar with bold notes of spice and touches of sweetness. The company has experienced a good amount of success with the Pequeño size in other lines and believes it will also be a winner n the Cohiba Nicaragua line. “The Pequeño frontmark is a best seller in both the Cohiba Red Dot and Black collections, so we brought this popular size to the Nicaragua line to accommodate a broader range of smoking occasions,” said to Steve Abbott, senior brand manager for Cohiba via a press release. “We are confident it will be a strong selling addition to ...
