Smokers will have a lot fewer places to light up in the town of Mount Airy, Md., as the town council passed a parks smoking ban on Monday night. While the ban doesn’t completely cover all park grounds, it covers the majority of them, leaving smokers a few small, designated areas. It covers both smoked and non-smoked tobacco products as well as electronic smoking devices. The town’s parks and recreation board will decide just how much–if any–of a designated smoking area a particular park might get. There is no requirement that a park will get such an area, according to the Carroll County Times. Violators will be subject to a $25 fine if caught. Mount Airy is home to just under 9,500 residents and is situated approximately 35 miles west of Baltimore.
