Last month, Cuban Stock Cigar Co. opened up a new Dominican-based factory as part of a larger effort to grow the company. The new facility measures 20,000-square-feet, over double the old space, and will have the capacity to produce 10 million cigars annually according to the company. “Since better working conditions create better cigars, these artisans deserve a comfortable, uncrowded, well-lit and temperate environment,” said Yaniv Levy, the company’s founder, in a press release. “The new facility is a major improvement in that respect. Tamboril is closer to workers’ homes, easing their transportation needs. The high-bay construction is cooler and brighter, with new, modern and more functional facilities.” The new space has meant the company has added on 40 workers and plans to hire on another 60 within the coming weeks. In addition, Cuban Stock is planning on expanding its U.S. salesforce in the coming months.
