Next month, SmallBatchCigar.com will receive a special size of the Quesada 40th Anniversary, a 4 1/2 x 40 petit belicoso. Only, it won’t be a version of the regular blend released in 2014, rather, it’s a smaller version of the Corona Clasica blend, one selected by Quesada Cigars head Manuel “Manolo” Quesada Jr. While the regular version of the blend features a darker Mexican San Andrés wrapper, the Corona Clasica uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Dominican criollo binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. It’s a limited, yet ongoing production cigar that is released only to retailers that have Quesada in-store for an event. This is the first time that the company has released a store exclusive release for either of the 40th Anniversary blends. Small Batch Cigar says pricing is expected to be in the $6-7 range. It will be limited to 100 boxes of 50 cigars. The California-based online store, which is owned by the same company that owns Maxamar Ultimate Cigars, expects the cigars in late April or early May.
