Add Chad Johnson to the growing list of retired athletes who have cigars with their names on it. The former all pro wide receiver has launched pre-orders for his new Eighty5 Cigars and its first cigar, Boa Vida. The blend, which is being produced by Jesus Castañón in the Dominican Republic, uses a mixture of Brazilian and Nicaraguan fillers and an Indonesian binder. It’s offered in a single 6 x 50 size with pricing set at $16.99 per cigar. The first 500 boxes of 20 purchased will be signed by Johnson and Castañón. While the cigars are being sold through the company’s own website at the moment, it does seem open to selling to cigar stores. Johnson wore the number 85 during his 11 seasons playing in the NFL and changed his last name to Ochocinco before changing it back to Johnson after he retired. He joins a growing list of celebrity athletes whose names have been attached to cigars including fellow football players Mike Ditka and Ray Lewis, hockey legend Bernie Parent, NBA all-stars Dennis Rodman and John Starks, and baseball players Garry Sheffield and Luis Tiant.
