Fans of the Tatuaje Red Tubo can get excited, but they also are going to have to get ready for a new name. The Tatuaje Verocu Torpedo (6 1/8 x 52) will become a regular production vitola this year, returning for the first time since 2009 when it was sold in tubo form. The cigar, along with the Black Label Tubo, was released in 10-count boxes with each cigar packed in a distinctive metal tube. Production was limited to around 5,000 boxes. While the 10-count boxes will be back in limited capacity, the tubes will not. The reworked Verocu Torpedo will first make its debut at an event at Cigars Mas Fino in Fresno, Calif. on March 31. A total of 500 10-count boxes were made, they will be spread out throughout a few “big events” between now and July. In July, the regular release 20-count boxes will begin shipping. There’s one other change, the cigar is now known as the Verocu No.6. Pricing is $11 per cigar, the same as the tubo release. Last year, Tatuaje expanded the Verocu line, adding five sizes.
