Next week, the Dominican Republic’s annual cigar festival, Procigar, kicks off and that means next Friday, Manuel Quesada of Quesada Cigars and Michael Herklots of Nat Sherman will take the stage to host an auction that includes lots from the organization’s members. There are 13 lots in total. The first two are pieces of art made by Dominican artists. Eusebio Hernández M. produced the first piece, which is actually a custom painted cigar box, portraying the people and city of Santiago. The second lot is a custom painting, entitled Ensartadoras de Tabaco by the Dominican artist Sergio Taveras. Both lots have a reserve of $500. Lot 3 comes from Arturo Fuente: four boxes of the company’s Don Arturo Gran AnniverXario Destino al Siglo. The opening bid is $1,000. The fourth lot comes from Spanish-based HFBarcelona. It includes the company’s DPs humidor, Travel10 humidor, Pocket cigar case, Cinder ashtray, Blader cutter and Flame lighter. The reserve is $1,200. Quesada is donating a special humidor with 100 cigars from the company’s Reserva Privada and Selección España line. The humidor will include a special version of the Quesada España Ninfa with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, a cigar the company says has not previously released. The minimum bid is $1,500.
