Alliance Adds Laranja Reserva to DeSocio Series

Alliance Cigar’s stable of DeSocio exclusive releases is getting bigger. The New York-based distributor has released the Laranja Reserva DeSocio, a 5 5/8 x 54 perfecto, that becomes the sixth release in the series. DeSocio is the last name of Alliance Cigar owner Tom Sullivan’s maternal grandmother. In 2013, Alliance Cigar took delivery of the Tempus DeSocio and has since added additional releases from Aging Room, My Father and Oliva. Espinosa launched the Laranja Reserva in 2014. It uses a Brazilian wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers. The name Laranja comes from the Portuguese word for orange. This is the fifth size for the line and the first exclusive size. “Erik Espinosa and I have been friends and working partners for many years,” said Sullivan in a press release. “He is a lot of fun to be with and more importantly to work with. His dedication and serious concern for consistency and quality is clearly evident in all aspects of working with him and his team.” The companies have stated that this is the first time Espinosa’s La Zona Cigar Factory has produced a cigar in this shape and they plan on using it for future projects with Alliance. “We share similar ...
