A number of changes are currently under consideration in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, as Bill 131, known as the Youth Smoking Prevention Act of 2013, received its second reading on Wednesday. Among the most notable changes included in the bill are a prohibition on the sale of distribution of promotional items together with tobacco products; a ban on the sale of flavored tobacco products; the broadening of the list of places that inspectors are allowed to enter and adjustments to the current list of penalty provisions. The bill has yet to be assigned to a committee and currently sits in the debate phase of the reading process.
