Don’Juan Gross told halfwheel he had been keeping the concept for his latest cigar in the proverbial oven for five years; but this spring, it will be time to finally deliver Pizzeria to retail. Like all of Dignity Cigars’ blends, Pizzeria is a Costa Rican puro made at the company’s Tabacos de la Cordillera factory. Three sizes are planned: Chicago Style Deep Dish (6 x 62), New York Style (6 x 54) and Italian Style (6 x 55 pyramid). MSRP is expected to be between $8 and $11 per cigar when the first batch hits a handful of shops in April before getting a formal release at the 2016 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show in July. Gross said he found the inspiration for the line from visits to cigar shops and in how the food is loved nearly the world over. “Everyone loves the taste of a great pizza, every cigar smoker loves that taste of a great cigar, which is why my gut feeling was to go with it this year,” Gross told halfwheel.
