This March, Davidoff will expand its Nicaragua line in the for of two box-pressed lines. The box-pressed variant will be offered in Robusto (5 x 48) and Toro (6 x 52) sizes. Davidoff offers both sizes in the regular version of the line but their dimensions are different: 5 x 50 and 5 1/2 x 54 respectively. Also different is how Davidoff describes the blend for Nicaragua Box Pressed. It lists the wrapper as Nicaraguan habano oscuro, compared to the Nicaraguan rosado that adorns the regular line. Both cigars are still Nicaraguan puros and the box-pressed version will use tobaccos from the Condega, Estelí, Jalapa and Ometepe regions of Nicaragua. This is the first box-pressed cigar for Davidoff’s flagship and eponymous line and also the first box-pressed cigar. Earlier this year, Davidoff released its first regular production box-pressed line in the form of the AVO Syncro Nicaragua, though it was made at the company’s O.K. Cigars factory. All Davidoff-branded cigars are produced at Cigars Davidoff. Pricing has not been announced.
