At this year’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, Crux Cigars showed off a trio of new cigars in smaller ring gauges: du Connoisseur. Like the rest of the company’s lines, it is made at Plasencia Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua. It uses a habano wrapper from the Jalapa region of Nicaragua, a Nicaraguan binder and filler tobacco from Honduras. The cigar is set to be offered in three sizes: du Connoisseur #1 (7 1/2 x 38, $9.99), du Connoisseur #2 (6 1/2 x 38, $8.99) and the du Connoisseur #3 (5 5/8 x 35, $7.50). Each size will be offered in boxes of 10. du Connoisseur was slated to arrive in October, but Casey Haugen, who handles operations for the company, told halfwheel the release has been delayed until December.
